The wine
Chambertin, the grand cru that lent Gevrey its hyphen and crowned the Côte de Nuits, demands gravity and grace at once. Pierre Girardin meets it with a deft, measured touch, letting the 2022 vintage's generosity flow without ever loosening the wine's commanding architecture.
Deep, luminous ruby. The aromatics are layered and slow to reveal: black cherry, cassis, rose, licorice, and a dark seam of forest floor and game. The palate is powerful yet poised, dense fruit wound around firm, ripe tannin and racing acidity. The finish is profound, mineral, and seemingly endless.
