The wine
Les Folatières climbs the upper slope of Puligny-Montrachet, where thin soils over hard limestone yield Chardonnay of perfume and lift. Domaine Chavy-Chouet farm it with precision, and the 2023 vintage gives a premier cru of brightness and definition, finesse over flesh.
Pale gold with a green glint. The nose is floral and fine: white peach, citrus blossom, honeysuckle, almond, and a struck-flint minerality. The palate is taut and elegant, orchard fruit and citrus carried on bright acidity and a delicate, creamy lees texture. Saline, mineral, and gracefully long through a stony finish.
