The wine
Clavoillon is Leflaive's stronghold, a premier cru the domaine all but owns and farms with biodynamic rigour. Broad-shouldered by Puligny standards, it trades filigree for sheer presence. The 2022 gives that breadth ripe fruit and a deep mineral undertow, white Burgundy of authority rather than restraint, built on conviction.
Gleaming gold-green. The nose unfolds slowly: poached pear, white flowers, lemon oil, then toasted hazelnut and gunflint. On the palate it is ample and layered, a powerful core wrapped in cool acidity and a chalky, salt-licked grip. Oak is seamless. The finish is long and mineral, echoing on lime zest and crushed rock.
