The wine
Fioretti's Collalto pairs native Sangiovese with Merlot, a supple Tuscan cuvee bottled as Toscana IGT for blending freedom. The warm 2021 vintage rounds the Sangiovese's edges with Merlot's plush flesh. The result is approachable and charming, a modern Tuscan red that wears its structure lightly.
Bright ruby, it opens on red cherry, ripe plum and a touch of raspberry, with violet and a whisper of dried herb above. Merlot brings cocoa and a soft, mouth-filling generosity. The palate is rounded and easy, tannins supple and fine-grained, acidity keeping it fresh. Sweet spice and a faint earthiness close a clean, gently savoury finish.
