The wine
Larmandier-Bernier, biodynamic pioneers of the Côte des Blancs, draw this from old vines at Cramant, a grand cru of profound chalk. The celebrated 2012 vintage gives a Blanc de Blancs of depth and drive, terroir transmitted with unusual fidelity and zero compromise.
Golden and bright, the mousse silken and fine. The nose is intense and mineral: lemon confit, white flowers, ripe pear, toasted hazelnut, and pure crushed chalk. The palate is broad yet electric, mature citrus and orchard fruit drawn taut over a profound saline acidity. Vinous, layered, and immensely long, finishing on stone.
Why we chose it
“Cramant chalk from old vines, vinous and driven. Blanc de Blancs with a soul.”
