The wine
Cristal, created for a tsar and farmed biodynamically across Roederer's grand cru heart, sets the standard for prestige cuvée precision. The cool 2013 vintage suits its style perfectly, lending the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay blend a crystalline tension beneath the silk.
Bright gold with an ultra-fine, persistent bead. The nose is delicate and complex: white peach, lemon oil, ginger, toasted almond, and a chalky, smoky depth. The palate is satiny yet vibrant, orchard and citrus fruit held on a thread of laser acidity. Pure, weightless, and immensely long, finishing on cool, saline chalk.
