The wine
Few villages carry the weight of Vosne-Romanée, and Pierre Girardin reads its register with rare fluency for a winemaker so young. This village cuvée distils the commune's celebrated opulence and spice into accessible form. The 2023, from a warm yet balanced year, is generous, perfumed and beautifully drinkable.
Bright ruby, the nose leads with red cherry, raspberry and a Vosne hallmark of clove and incense. The palate is round and silky, juicy red fruit carried on supple tannin, with a savoury earthiness underneath. Fresh acidity keeps it buoyant, and the finish lingers on warm spice and a touch of crushed stone.
