The wine
Les Enseignères is a coveted village lieu-dit lying right against the grand crus, and Domaine Chavy-Chouet coaxes uncommon class from it. This is Puligny at village level that drinks well above its station, all chalk and citrus drive. The 2023 vintage is fresh, energetic and finely cut, a wine of poise and immediacy.
Pale straw with green glints, opening on green apple, lemon, white flowers and a chalky mineral note. The palate is bright and tightly wound, citrus and crisp orchard fruit carried on saline acidity, with a clean, lightly creamy texture. Almond and flint trail a long, refreshing finish. Precise, mineral Puligny that overdelivers from a great little plot.
Why we chose it
“Village Puligny that punches up: chalk, citrus, and grand cru ambition.”
