The wine
Just below Le Montrachet itself, Bienvenues-Bâtard yields a grand cru of generosity and grace, and Pierre Girardin frames it with restraint and precision. Sitting on the Puligny side, it trades raw power for breadth and charm. The 2022 vintage is ripe, layered and beautifully balanced, a wine of welcome by name and nature.
Luminous pale gold, opening on poached pear, white blossom, lemon oil and toasted brioche. The palate is broad and silken, ripe stone fruit and citrus cushioned by a fine creamy texture, yet lifted throughout by salty mineral drive. Almond, honeysuckle and a flicker of flint extend a long, harmonious finish. Grand cru Puligny at its most seductive.
Why we chose it
“Grand cru charm: pear, blossom, and saline drive in seamless harmony.”
