The wine
From Bué, one of Sancerre's most prized communes, Lemain-Pouillot work the steep Kimmeridgian and silex slopes with a quiet sense of place. This is Loire Sauvignon Blanc at its most articulate: vivid, mineral, and cut clean, a wine that argues for terroir over varietal noise.
Pale gold with a green cast. The nose lifts with grapefruit zest, white currant, and crushed flint, then a whisper of elderflower. The palate is taut and saline, citrus driven, the acidity racing across the tongue like cold stone. Bracing and precise through a chalky, lingering close.
Why we chose it
“Flint and grapefruit on a knife edge. Sancerre with the lights left on.”
