The wine
Scribe brings a lighter, more naturalist hand to Napa Cabernet, chasing freshness where the valley often chases weight. The 2019, a celebrated Napa vintage, balances ripe fruit against a savoury, almost European restraint. This is Cabernet with energy as well as flesh, made by people clearly listening to the site.
Dark ruby-purple. Cassis, black plum, and blackberry lead the nose, joined by dried herbs, cedar, graphite, and a cool mineral edge. The palate is generous yet poised, supple tannins carrying dark fruit over bright acidity and a savoury core. Oak is restrained throughout. The finish runs long on black currant, bay leaf, and crushed gravel.
