The wine
From its long-held estate on the Loire's eastern bank, Château de Tracy makes Pouilly-Fumé of poise and pedigree. This is Sauvignon Blanc grown on the flint-rich silex soils that give the appellation its signature smoke. The 2023 is a crisp, vibrant expression, classic Loire Sauvignon with a polished sense of place.
Pale lemon-green. The nose is fresh and lifted: gooseberry, lime, white peach, cut grass and a wisp of gunflint smoke. The palate is crisp and finely balanced, zesty citrus and green orchard fruit driven by bright, clean acidity and a stony mineral edge. There is a subtle texture beneath the freshness. The finish is brisk, saline and refreshing, a benchmark aperitif white.
