The wine
Le Cailleret lies just below Le Montrachet, the finest premier cru in Puligny, and Boyer-Martenot farms it with the precision the site demands. This is white Burgundy with nothing to hide behind: a wine of tension before generosity. The 2022 vintage is taut, mineral and quietly grand, premier cru reaching toward the heights above.
Pale gold-green in the glass, releasing white peach, lemon zest, acacia and a flinty struck-match lift. The palate is racy and precise, citrus and orchard fruit stretched over a saline, chalky spine, with only a whisper of toasted oak. Hazelnut and crushed stone deepen a long, mineral-driven finish. Cailleret tension in full flight, built to reward the patient.
Why we chose it
