The wine
From the storied limestone hill of Corton, the Boillot brothers craft a Charlemagne of grand cru gravity, all power held in marble. This is Chardonnay at its most monumental: dense, mineral, and slow to reveal itself. A young wine of immense potential, demanding years before it speaks in full.
Vivid pale gold. Initially closed, then citrus zest, white peach, and ground hazelnut surface, with smoke, iodine, and crushed limestone beneath. The palate is broad and tightly coiled, vast fruit reined in by searing acidity and a saline, chalky spine. The structure is grand cru through and through. A seemingly endless finish of stone and lemon.
Why we chose it
“Marble and lemon, a hill in a glass that needs a decade to open.”
