The wine
Les Clous lies on Meursault's upper slopes, where thinner soils lend the wine drive and definition. The Boillot brothers farm it for clarity, letting the cooler exposure speak. Their 2023 is taut and stony, a Meursault that leads with structure, the rounder Meursault charm arriving only later.
Bright straw-gold. The nose offers lemon oil, pear skin, and white peach, with crushed almond, acacia, and a wisp of struck flint. The palate is firm and saline, fruit held in check by lively acidity and a chalky grip, texture lean but never austere. Oak is barely perceptible. The finish is long and mineral, echoing on citrus pith and stone.
