The wine
Blagny sits high above Meursault, its cooler, stonier ground giving Chardonnay more cut than the village's usual gold. Camille et Guillaume Boillot farm it with care, and the ripe, balanced 2022 vintage yields a premier cru of breadth and energy in equal measure.
Pale gold, bright and clear. The nose is generous yet fine: ripe pear, lemon, hazelnut, butter, and a smoky, flinty minerality. The palate is rounded and saline, orchard fruit and citrus underpinned by a creamy lees richness and firm, driving acidity. Nutty, mineral, and long, with a savoury tension on the close.
