Les Champans is one of Volnay's most storied premier crus, a slope of red-fruited finesse, and the young Boillot brothers bring it to life with bright, gentle-handed winemaking. This is Pinot Noir of charm and lift rather than weight. The 2023 vintage is fragrant, supple and full of early appeal, with the structure to age.

Gleaming ruby in the glass, releasing red cherry, raspberry, violet and a hint of sweet spice. The palate is silky and perfumed, red-fruited and pure, with soft, finely woven tannins and a savoury, almost peppery undertone. Rose petal and forest floor deepen the picture, and the finish stays elegant, lifted and quietly persistent. Quintessential Volnay grace.
